My expectations with working with a nutritionist was to get my eating habits under control, and to learn more about healthy eating. I wanted to be healthier, and help myself manage chronic pain. I have always been a little heavier and I wanted to lose weight, but it was honestly way down on the list of things I needed help for.
Jen is full of knowledge. She wants to help you with your life, not just food, its a whole lifestyle transformation. The most surprising change was how easy it was after I started learning what to eat, and when to eat it. It isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I learned that I was the only person who could control my health.
No doctors, treatment, or medicine can do what functional nutrition did for my health. I have different health problems, and the only person who can help you, is you! I loved the food & meal plans. I also loved the knowledge to help me make my own. The meals were loved by not just me, but my husband. You can eat almost anything you just have to make smarter choices. My favorite food was my go-to snack Organic Blue Corn Chips with Homemade Salsa. It is by far my favorite snack, and is great when people are over. I was very surprised how a “diet” allowed me to eat almost anything I wanted I just had to be smart with the choices I made, quality over quantity any day!
She was always encouraging but helped you make the choices that were right for you. I loved working with her because she held me accountable. Working with her literally changed my life, I am a different person and I am so happy because of it.

At first my expectations were to lose weight. Then the more I spoke to Jen the more I came to understand that it wasn't all about the weight. It was about giving the body what it needs and performs best with and then the weight loss comes with that.It was a great experience. Jen is an energetic person with lots of great knowledge to share.
I learned that I really like coconut oil and that I am capable. Jen was very empowering. I may be in a minority here I am not sure but I love veggies and lean meat, so yes! Who knew I liked quinoa so much!!! My favorite was the warm quinoa salad bowl with lots of mixed temperature foods.
Jen is an awesome person in general. She followed up with me even after our sessions ended to make sure all was well (that goes a long way in my book and not the kind of attention you get from most people) She always made sure if I had any questions or concerns that they were answered quickly and knowledgeably. In short.... Jen cares.
